Timothy Moy

Timothy Moy is a freelance horn player that is based in Los Angeles and Orange County. He is currently the Principle Horn for Bellflower Symphony, a Rotating Section Horn Player with Whittier Regional Symphony, and most recently was appointed as the 3rd Horn with La Miranda Symphony.

Outside of Bellflower Symphony, Whittier Regional Symphony, and La Miranda Symphony, Timothy has also performed with the Four Seasons Orchestra, Pacific Brass, Southland Symphony, American Youth Symphony, the Westside Ballet Company and more. Timothy is also an active Chamber Musician performing as the Resident Horn Player for Citrus City Brass and Fine Winds. In Boston, Timothy performed with the Dubois Orchestra, as the 4th Horn, and the New England Brass Band. Timothy's playing career has taken him to venues in Boston, Santa Monica, Cerritos, Aliso Viejo, and Los Angeles, San Diego, Tempe, Long Beach, Las Vegas, Bryce Canyon National Park and more.

Timothy also performed in Powell River, British Columbia, Canada with the PRISMA Music Festival Orchestra during the summer of 2022. Timothy was also a participant at the Rafael Mendez Brass Institute in Denver, Colorado as a part of Citrus City Brass during the summer of 2024. Timothy also went on a tour with Citrus City Brass to the island of Maui in February 2025 to perform for schools and the public. Most recently, Timothy performed with Yandel's Sinfónico Tour at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood in June 2025.

Timothy received his Bachelors of Music in Horn Performance at California State University Fullerton where he studied with Steve Mahpar and Warren Gref. Timothy also earned his Masters of Music in Horn Performance at Boston University where he studied with Eric Ruske. While in his free time, Timothy likes to spend time with his friends and family, play video games, and go out and explore the LA and OC food scenes.
